Cement Dyes and Polished Concrete Floors

Eagle by Stonekor has been working with different types of flooring for decades. We know that there are numerous reasons why cement flooring is a very practical choice for many factories and businesses. It is inexpensive, extremely durable, and it does not require regular maintenance. But what about the way it looks? Luckily, cement flooring is also very customizable. With the use of  one of Eagle by Stonekor’s concrete polishing machines and our beautiful concrete dyes, a lackluster cement floor can be transformed into something that is unique and beautiful.

Our StoneOlogy Concrete Dyes come in a variety of colors. They range from warm golds and browns to calm blues and greens to different shades of gray. These fast-drying and easy-to-apply dyes can be used to create distinctive patterns and images including business logos and personalized designs.

StoneOlogy Concrete Dyes are available with both water based and VOC exempt acetone as the carrying agent. Water based dyes are environmentally safe and durable. Many concrete dyes contain VOCs or volatile organic compounds, which can combine with certain other environmental compounds to form ground-level ozone, also known as smog. However, the VOC exempt acetone available as the carrying agent in some StoneOlogy Concrete Dyes is one of the few compounds of its kind that does not contribute to the public health and environmental hazard that is smog.

Concrete flooring is not just for warehouses or factories anymore. Dyed and polished concrete floors look great in business such as restaurants, car dealerships, and grocery stores. Dyed concrete flooring is also a popular flooring option among large, high-traffic buildings such as schools, museums, hospitals, and malls because of its durability, ease of cleaning, and professional look. Dyed concrete flooring is also an increasingly popular option for residential buildings since they can be customized to be very decorative and artistic.

Concrete flooring should not be stained until it has been properly prepared. It is important to remember that the surface variations of the concrete often end up being visible through the dye depending on the color and the kind of pattern you choose. Frequently, for cement floors, a good cleaning will be enough to ensure that the cement flooring is ready to be dyed. For older, rougher cement floors, it might be necessary to grind away some of the cracks and other defects that occur over time and with frequent use. A fast and easy way to get an attractive-looking polished concrete floor with StoneOlogy dyes is by using Eagle by Stonekor’s G&P One grinder and polisher. For more expansive grinding and polishing jobs, using Eagle by Stonekor’s larger Stone Extreme is a great way to help you save time. The propane-powered and cordless design of our equipment is safe and convenient to use. We also offer the concrete diamonds used to prepare a cement floor for color application.

Customers can always trust Eagle by Stonekor grinders, polishers, and diamonds and StoneOlogy Concrete Dyes to perform in the way that they need them to.

Eagle By Stonekor and the Environment

Eagle by Stonekor’s innovative propane-powered burnishing and grinding machines free from cumbersome cords are among the safest and easiest to use in the industry. Eagle by Stonekor also attracts loyal customers because we are dedicated to providing them with quality floor care equipment while also helping to protect the environment and the health of operators. We do this by ensuring that all of our equipment meets strict environmental and emissions standards. All Eagle by Stonekor equipment is EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and CARB (California Air Resources Board) certified for having safe levels of exhaust emissions. In addition, all Eagle by Stonekor machines come with an Emissions Shutdown System built into them. This system shuts the machinery off automatically if emission levels change drastically and before they reach a dangerous level.

Propane itself is an inexpensive fuel that is also environmentally innocuous, so consumers do not have to feel guilty about supporting the propane industry. Propane is a safe fuel that burns very cleanly and contributes very little to air pollution. Propane is not harmful to aquatic ecosystems or soils if it is accidently spilled. If it comes in contact with drinking water, it does not compromise the water quality. Propane vapor is not harmful if it is accidently inhaled by humans or animals. Another aspect of propane that makes it environmentally friendly is that it is a by-product of other manufacturing processes, so no additional energy is expended to produce it.

Through the willing efforts of all of us here at Eagle by Stonekor, consumers can rest assured that our propane-powered pieces of machinery are safe to use indoors, provided that they are operated according to regulations and instructions by qualified individuals. Eagle by Stonekor propane machinery also utilizes a three-way catalytic muffler system that captures any harmful emissions due to propane combustion and neutralizes them into harmless compounds (CO & HC + NOX → CO2 & H20 & N2).

If you are particularly concerned about harmful emissions negatively affecting the health of those who inhabit the work environment and the health of our environment, you may be especially interested in Eagle by Stonekor’s Enviro Pro Series and Dust Control Series. We feel sure that customers will appreciate built-in features of our equipment such as our innovative air funnel system that collects and filters any dust and debris emitted during use.

At Eagle by Stonekor, we care you and your world.

Eagle By Stonekor: Diamond Tooling

A popular saying is “You got to get it started if you want to get it done.”  The concrete floor finishing business is no different.  The smallest or largest job all have a starting point.  The first thing that needs to be done is a deep strip of the area.  This removes existing coatings and gets the floor ready for future tasks.

Eagle by Stonekor has a large selection of Diamond Tooling that fits your needs.   We offer the longest lasting diamond tooling in the business. Whether it’s coating removal bonds, metal bonds, or resin bonds, we have all that you will require.  Our diamonds assist you with coating removal, surface prep, grinding, honing, and polishing concrete.

We feature the Eagle Tracker 3000 Strip Machine.  For use with your diamond tooling, this product has two 16” counter rotating brushes that cut a 30” path through your project.  The Eagle Tracker 3000 has foam filled tires and a low profile 4” deck.  Available with either a Kawasaki or Robin engine, this machine has an engine speed of 3450 rpm which allows you to easily remove multiple layers of old floor finishes.

Grinding and polishing is easy with the LX-30.  A propane powered grinder and polisher, this one weighs 700 pounds.  It has an 8 gallon water tank for use with wet applications and two vacuum ports for dust collecting when working with a dry application. The LX-30 has an enclosed grinding deck and a non-marking splash guard.  It has a 22 hp Subaru Robin engine that delivers plenty of power.

Another one of our products is the G&P One. At 1,300 pounds, it practically screams heavy duty. This machine is both a grinder and a polisher which greatly simplifies your job since you only need one machine.  The G&P One is equipped with three 13” rotating heads and enough power to satisfy your grinding needs.  It features an 11 gallon water tank for use on your wet grind and a vacuum hose mounted to the machine that helps with dust elimination on your dry polishes.

You can put the finishing touches on your project with a device we call The Classic Edge. As well as a 13 inch grinding path, this machine features a three way adjustable head that allows you to get within ¼  of an inch to walls and other obstacles for a professional quality result.  The Classic Edge also has a vacuum port that helps with the dust generated by the concrete.

Dust is a definitely problem on the work site and we have a solution: the SK300 vacuum.  This vacuum has a 17 hp Kawasaki propane powered engine and a 9 gallon collection tank.  It lasts for 6 hours on a single tank of propane and is the perfect companion to the G&P one.  It is the ideal size for two walk behind grinders.  This industrial vacuum is both powerful and well built.

Eagle By Stonekor: Stone Extreme

It weighs 12,800 lbs.  It has a grinding width of 74”.  It can cut up to 4,000 square feet per hour and can polish 8,000 square feet per hour.  It’s diesel powered and even has air conditioning.  The Stone Extreme by Stonekor is the machine to use for the big jobs such as the cutting and polishing of the concrete floor in a 50 year old building.  This one of a kind product has endless run time and can be used in wet or dry operations. Attached to either a JCB 320T or a Bobcat T320 are 3 hydraulic powered concrete grinding heads.  Inside each head are three rotating plates that contain 4 diamonds each.  With a total of 36 diamonds, this machine increases production time immensely.  The Stone Extreme can grind or polish stone, concrete or terrazzo.  If you have a big project, this is the machine for you.

Now, if your project is on a smaller scale than the floor of a warehouse, Eagle by Stonekor has a few suggestions.  We made the best even better.  We took all the favorites from the Eagle Talon Series Floor Burnisher and created the Eagle Signature Series Burnisher.  This high-powered machine is available with either a Kawasaki or engine.  Propane driven, it can run for 5 to 6 hours on one cylinder of propane. It has adjustable wheel brackets and handle.  It’s offered in three different sizes: the 2100 which features a 21 inch pad that can cover 25,000 square feet, the 2400 that has a 24 inch pad that covers 28,000 square feet, and the 2700 that makes quick work of a 33,000 square foot area with the help of its 27 inch pad. The Eagle Signature Series Burnisher is EPA and CARB approved for exhaust emissions .  This protects not only the environment but also the operator of the machine as well.

Speaking of safety, Eagle by Stonekor has a model that suits that purpose.  The Eagle Dust-Control Propane Buffer reduces dust which improves air quality.  Offered in a variety of buffing widths, this ergonomically designed machine has a reusable dust fill bag, neoprene dust skirt, and a metal dust containment shield.  While good for the environment, this machine is not short on power.  With an engine speed of 3450 rpm, the Eagle Dust-Control Buffer can cover 28,000 to 33,000 square feet and can last 5 to 6 hours on one propane cylinder.

Another model is the EnviroPro Series Burnisher.  It can use either black or diamond pads. This machine increases the floor temperature during the burnishing process which increases the gloss level of the finished floor.  The higher heat is also essential to correctly set concrete sealant. This product has an aluminum frame and possesses a unique air funnel system that controls airborne dust and debris which meets the GS-40 and Leed requirements for safety.  All of our products come with warranties so call us today to get a quote for the machine that is right for you and your business.

Diamond Resin Bond

Polishing and or grinding concrete or other exterior floors is made easy by using Diamond Resin Bond plates which are secured to singular or multiple heads and rotate in a circular motion. The tools’ bonding material is mainly resin powder. An example of this tool is the resin-bonded diamond polishing pads used in the construction industry. The heads are fully enclosed for safety and a dust extraction port provides dust free operation. Diamond Resin Bond grinding tools are made by using diamonds as the abrasive and resin powder as the adhesive, and by adding certain fillers or powders.

There are distinct advantages in the Diamond Resin Bond process, and there are numerous plates from which to select.  In the use of Diamond Resin Bond you may have heard of the use of a high quality or particular diamond known as StoneOlogy Diamonds.  These kinds of diamonds are designed to meet whatever need may arise be it coating removal, surface prep, or grinding, honing, and polishing concrete.

If you wish to achieve a flawless edge of cut without edge fractures, and after a few hours of working in the space you’ll quickly come to the conclusion that reaching for a resin-bonded lateral cutting disc is a better option and much more cost-efficient and have certain advantages. Diamond Resin Bond grinding is highly efficient and has good self sharpening; the temperature is low which means the process is not subject to blocking, burning, or other forms of damage or pitting in the polishing and grinding process.  In the Diamond Resin Bond the elasticity is high and that will help to improve the roughness of the workpiece’s surface. Keep that in mind when considering fine grinding, half-fine grinding, sharpening and polishing. Show more Show more

Diamond tools with resin bond systems can be effective in both dry and wet grinding of most surfaces, and this action produces more uniform wheel wear, more uniform grinding rates, and more consistently fine surface finishes. Enough of the technical advantages, let’s mention a few advantages for the professional.  The Diamond Resin Bond process will greatly increase the work efficiency, and improve the workers’ labor environment, decreasing the product’s labor intensity.  The processing cost of each workpiece is lower, and there just doesn’t seem to be enough time of the day to do the things you want and still be cost efficient on the job.  Needless to say that the deployment of Diamond Resin Bond technology will make grinding and polish all materials more efficient, and get you home for dinner on time.
